At low tide she only clears the bridge by 5 feet wow. She is beautiful inside as welland I think she is still for sale drool lol. G.
Should have posted a link to that one on the recent thread about junk rigs.

Hey, who needs women when there are so many beautiful boats out there (noting the converse is probably true for some lady sailors)?

Just Checking in

Hi all,

Checking in. Really great to hear that Margo, Zee, and Thomas are headed out. They truly are an inspiration to me. Keeps the hope light burning. Can't volunteer to crew until the new year hits or I'm sure to have with one of you by now. Damn having to work and waiting on vacation time! Burned it all this year in the Caribbean. It's ok still sailing in the NE on weekends. Fair weather here. Enjoying every bit of it.

I love my boat, I sleep in her, but I can't sleep with her, so I need a woman too, ya' know?

men are ok until they start acting like idiots in public. i have these neighbors who, it seems, have bullied their way down the west coast in a power boat.a friend in santa barbara remembers them bullying a gentle soul up there..... nice folks. men who bully women and the women who stay with them and help them bully other women are not human.

Works both ways – I can be too easy going so it’s part of the reason I am happy to be in a sordid love affair with my boat! Also leaves me genuinely single just in case that soul mate does show.

No satphones or rigs for me boatman - these things cost money. I am saltymonkey - someone has tied me into this #&*@# armchair for a while, so all i can do is up the skills. Next on my list to master - diesel repair; TIG welding; more advanced fiberglass.

Yes, who needs a partner when you have a boat (or an imaginary one) to teach you new things?

Salty, you old ham you! I have a little portable ssb to listen in with, but haven't done certification. When you master the diesel and fiberglass, you can come down and crew with me. My boat is teaching me new stuff all the time, but firstly must teach me more patience to slow down and give myself over to each issue in order to solve them.

For a week now I've been back in LA finishing my dental overhaul and an old slow squamas cell patch cut off my forehead. Just have two crowns left to install and the stitches removal left, then back down baja to me boat.

Anyone driven down baja lately? If so, what's the skinny on the road and sights? I'm taking my old landcruiser down so I'll have easy transport. Can I get import permit for vehicle on this side of the border. Figure if I cross to the mainland later, I can fly back and ferry the car across.
