Relating to sailing weather, Dr. Suzuki explains how climate change affects the weather.

Re: David Suzuki explains

Interesting that here is a guy talking about what we as sailors have to deal with on a day to day basis and not one interested reader!

Don't have time for videos. But this article
Evidence for the prosecution of David Suzuki, part three: Suzuki’s Andean Fantasy | Financial Post

Which bashes Suzuki's view from the the point of view of the rich and powerful was enlightening. I fear that it will be difficult to force them to embrace or even honor his views, since such behavior would tend to decrease the speed at which they acquire wealth.

We are having record non-extreme weather in the US this year. No hurricanes have washed up to date. Tornado frequency is way down and wild fires are down this year.

Atmospheric CO2 is at record levels this year as we are breaking the 400 ppm barrier.

I'm just passing along the data, don't judge me here.

Re: David Suzuki explains

There are times I wonder just how much humans can control Mother Nature. I think the answer lies somewhere between not at all and very little. The Earth has gone through cycles that no human, even with the most advanced technology, could impact in any discernible way.

On the other hand, there are scientists who have estimated the Earth can sustain up to 4 billion humans indefinitely. We have around 7 billion today. One thing for certain, while we can create problems for life on earth, Earth itself will always prevail.

I've read numerous articles on climate change and how much humans are responsible. I've tried to find definitive proof that climate change is totally our fault but knowing the earth has gone though dramatic climate changes in the past, when the human population was insignificant, at best, tells me I still need more proof.

While there's little doubt we've polluted the air, land and seas, just how much of that can be blamed as the cause of the climate changes we are seeing today? I don't know. Weather forecasters predicted this was supposed to be a very bad year for hurricanes, based in part on climate change. It didn't happen. In fact it was the weakest year since 1983. That tells me scientists still don't know as much as we often give them credit for knowing.

Re: David Suzuki explains

David Suzuki has zero credibility with real scientists, but he does have a good TV show. As LS pointed out, our weather in North America this year has been unusually benign. If this is the result of global warming, then I am all for the idea. The news media usually concentrates on the negative effects of climate change. They hardly ever report on the positive.

Vasco...that tv clip from the Australian show clearly shows David Suzuki is out of the loop and lost all of his credibility.

Bit different globally.

And India just had a monster cyclone hit.
Again just more data.

Oh, man, where do you dig these things up. Dr. Suzuki is a well respected scientist in Canada and has fought the good fight for many years. Once more he is a true gentleman. A word I would never use to describe Ezra Levant. Just my opinion.

And the extreme events in Colorado and Alberta...

But the link does not seem to work.

Here is a message I received from the Suzuki Foundation.

False allegations pollute the well of public discourse.

Valery

Dear Phillip,

At the David Suzuki Foundation, we pride ourselves in finding science-based solutions to the real and urgent challenges of our time. But we sometimes find ourselves having to respond to allegations based on lies and exaggerations, the most recent of which have come from Sun News.

We hope the negative noise will be drowned out by positive and rational discourse aimed at creating a healthy, sustainable future. We’d also like to thank you for standing with us, seeing through the lies and working to protect our planet.

Read our full response here.

Sincerely,
