rebuilding the yanmar is worth every penny ye stick into it, considering a new one is 15k Aand more--...LOL.have fun-- your yannie will be as good as or better than new when done.
i priced new yannies for my formosa--i was going to change over until the distributor quoted me the prices of the new engines(i gagged and choked)---oops-- we went with the perkins 4-108. you will be best off rebuilding your yanmar....best engine i have found in boats.

still waiting on this motor to be done... going slightly nuts. So use to working 6 days a week/15 hours a day then started on the boat refit when I shut the business down and now for 2 1/2 weeks I sit and wait ,watch tv and browse online. getting a bit stir crazy.Just want the call the motor is complete so I can get on with it already ! But keep telling myself no need to be anxious ,it will be there when ever I get there

Where ya gotta be so fast, anyway? It's sit there or sit at the finish.

Re: Pretty Much Lost . . . But that Can Be Interesting

You could always go motorless....

Jerome FitzGerald wrote some good books on the topic. I realize it's too late now, but it's a thought to keep in the back of your mind for the next time the motor craps out and big $$ in repairs set you back.
