Re: Moving aboard - What to do with my stuff?

Since you are living in a marina for a couple years, I'd go ahead and get a storage unit. Living on a boat I don't have a good place to build or work on things out of the weather. It would also give you a place to stage, store, and sell items. A small fireproof box/safe will work for papers until you cast-off.

Scan and Shred. Store in the Cloud. Get over it!

Re: Moving aboard - What to do with my stuff?

If the marina you are going to live in has free car parking go out and buy an old van, park it in the car park and store your stuff in there. Most places one does not even need to keep the vehicle registered as car parks are usually private property and so long as you do not drive it on public roads registration is not required. The two years you are going to live there should give you time to get your head right about what possessions you want to retain in the long term.

Re: Moving aboard - What to do with my stuff?

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I've started scanning my documents and shredding. Sending a couple of boxes of keepsakes to our daughter. And I have an old truck and plan to get a top for the bed for tools, etc.

Thanks
