Toronto Exhibition Air Show

Hey Folks

New to Lake Ontario and considering heading in to watch the air show this weekend. We'd like to anchor out but anticipate restrictions. Does anyone have any ideas where best to toss the hook to take in the show? Failing that, best marina?

Thanks.

There's an anchorage in Humber Bay but you have to get in before the marine police shut the area down. Just go west along the Toronto shore, past the Humber River bridge until you can't go anymore. It's in behind all the landfill that became Mimico cruising club and Etobikoke YC. West of the Humber river.

Go to the wall at Hanlans Point and walk across to the nude beach

Hi Dave, ex CG, spent years enforcing the exclusionary zone. Check the weather, if its going to be OK, anchor off the nude beach by Hanlans, if there is much south or west in the forecast, head for the inner harbour EARLY, get a floating spot off queens Quay terminal, don't try anchoring in the inner harbour.

Take a reciprocal dock at NYC, tie off and watch it from the front row seat of their deck. Order beer, enjoy.

Looking at Notice to Mariners at Canadian International Air Show - Toronto Air Show - Frequently Asked Questions
Anchoring off Hanlans beach or Humber bay appears to be within the zone. If I get there before noon, will I be asked to leave?
Also what is wrong with anchoring in the inner harbour?

Re: Toronto Exhibition Air Show

Yes, you'll be asked to leave, but unless the exclusionary zone has changed (which it may have) you should be able to anchor towards the South end of Hanlans.
