Chicago or Mobile to Kentucky Lake - 48' Mast too Tall?

I will be looking to buy a 30/31' sailboat in the spring and may want to add Florida and the Great Lakes boats to my search list. The end destination for the boat will be Kentucky lake.

Since I will probably be buying a 2005+ catalina 309/310 model with a mast height appx. 48' above the waterline, bridge height will be a concern.

Do you know if the mast will have to be taken down if going from Mobile AL. to Kentucky lake?, how about from Chicago to Kentucky lake?

Regards,

Donny
