Hi, Thank you to all the people who answered my request regarding the Sailrite LSZ sewing machine and other comments that came in. I have continued to do research while weighing your suggested options. Particularly the one that came in today from Ft Lauderdale-- right on my route to The Keys at the end of Feb! Why has it been so hard to decide? I was weighing the reputation of the Sailrite machine, its strength & support (its weight!), versus my desire to have a strong machine, with a long arm (a bigger workspace under the arm than my current machine). I finally settled on a Singer S18. I wasn't looking for such robust electronics or hundreds of stitches, but I think I'll actually learn to do new things! I'm eager for its arrival. I'll let you know how it goes.
And I'm glad that some other people may be picking up "new" Sailrites by virtue of my post.
