Want To Buy: Leroy Somer Gypsy

Hi

Does anyone out there have a U/S Leroy Somer windlass with a 10mm Gypsy. I have just bought a boat in Greece with 30m of 12mm chain and a fully functional LS windlass. Everyone says 30m is a laughably small amount of chain for Greece and 12mm is a bit heavy for my 38ft cat. You see the problem, for the same price and weight I can buy 70m of 10mm chain or 50m of 12mm. If I buy the 12mm when the LS eventually packs up I will be stuck with it. I would like to change to 10mm and need a gypsy.

Good luck with the search, LS stopped making windlass a few years ago, and bear in mind, 10mm metric chain comes in two different standards, ISO and DIN, with about 2mm difference in link length between the two standards.
