Katadyn 40e, very clean, $1800

I’ve got our trusty katadyn 40e on the chopping block.

We bought it new in 2010, and have run it 648 hours. It’s been pickled/preserved since 2012. Originally pickled with katadyn membrane preservative, then propylene glycol annually following the initial bug kill.

It’s very clean, shows virtually no corrosion and come with pre-filter, seal kit, 6 new filters, acid and alkaline cleaners, and a half jar of katadyn membrane preservative. Also included is the handle to manually actuate the pump.

This whole setup new would cost over $4300.

The membrane is almost guaranteed bad (not a sure thing, but a good bet), a cost of $430 from Defender.

I’ll part with the whole mess for $1800 plus shipping from 77581 USA.

Feel free to make offers, I may laugh at some of the more ridiculous ones, but will keep them filed in case the sale interests no-one.

Thanks,

Matt

How much amperage does it take to operate properly and what is a realistic output. Is it easily installed

Many thanks

It operates as per the specs. @12v average 4 amps (it does draw less on the pull stroke and more on the squeeze). Installation is a simple bolt in place and hang the filter, it’s a self contained unit. Output was always as advertised or slightly more, 1.5+ Gallo a per hour (we never ran it in colder waters though).

It's a fantastic device, reasonably small and doesn't need much care (other than preservation if not in use). I also like that the pump could be operated manually (never done so, but the possibility, read handle, would be there).
