Sorry, the Rocna has been sold, and I do not have any wind instruments to sell.

I believe you have been given the right response, check with the insurance company. My first stop would be a good marine lawyer.

Did the insurance companies authorize your selling this? Usually they claim salvage as part of the claims process. You should get a signed release or you could get yourself into a world of trouble like insurance fraud. I sold boat insurance for 29 years.

Forgive my frustration, but why is it that so many want to give me unsolicited advice? I'm fully aware of all the legalities, and have every right to do what I'm doing...

Wondering HOW that insco is screwing you over. Gonna take 'em to court?

Also consider contacting your state's insurance commissioner and going after them on bad-faith.

Watermaker is gone, and I have a deal pending on the autopilot. Sorry.

Re: Boat totaled, selling off lots of equipment

I would be very interested in buying your watermaker.

I am living in Denmark and have my yacht in Italy, so if you are interesting in selling to me please advise what will be the easiest way for you.

Thanks, Bob! I just have to keep telling myself that it will lead to a better boat for my wife and I to go cruising on eventually.

Re: Boat totaled, selling off lots of equipment

STOP. You need to see an attorney. You do not and should not have to suffer any loss. This is akin to an automobile accident. Do not settle with the insurance company before seeking legal counsel. REPEAT: do not settle or sign anything without proper legal counsel.

I would consider a lawsuit against the other boat owner for all your losses not compensated by insurance.
