Seafaring Music

Does anyone know the name of that classical piece probably written for an old Errol Flynn movie that evokes setting out on a long voyage south in the trades under bright sunny skies and hugely rolling swells?

It starts out with a French horn and goes something like da dah da dah da dah ....

Re: Seafaring Music

I think you just spelled AAA in morse code.
Sorry can't help with your music but "The Last Farewell" must have been written with C.S. Forester's books in mind.

Oh wait, how about the theme music from Victory at Sea?
Try this link:

Maybe not. Thats pretty dark.

No - That's the "Sailors Hornpipe".

The one I'm thinking of is probably famous but how do you search for a piece of music ????

Use an app called shazam. It's amazing. Open the app and hold your phone up to the radio, it will identify the song. You can even whistle or sing to it - even badly - and it will id the tune.
