Mediterranean Sailing

Does anyone know where I could find a yacht such as Bavaria 40 for charter in Mediterranean; preferably in Croatia and how much would it cost ?

Re: Mediterranean sailing

Hi and thanks, but what I really wanted to know is how much time would it take to get my money back if I buy a Bavaria 40 and give it for charter, and what are the average charter prices for a boat like this ?

I believe the intial contract is 5yrs.. then optional on both party's wishing to continue..
As to whether/when/if... you get your money back on the boat... depends on the market.. are the customers there.. in large enough number...
Once again... Sunsail or other similar are the folks to ask...

Re: Mediterranean Sailing

Here is a rule of thumb that may help you: You should get about 40-55% of your purchase price back in 5 years if your charter contract is with one of the top 5 charter companies. Generally, the charter company is the dealer for the yacht manufacturer and you purchase it from the charter company. You can also use the above numbers to approximate a purchase price of a yacht being sold after 5 years with a charter company.

There are hundreds of variations on this type of deal, but your cash return is generally as I described above.

Hope this helps you.

Bill

where you going to pay taxes, what kind of paperwork, visas or "permition" you need to do "bussiness". i do not know for rest om med, but i know some people who done exactly what you plan to do and they are now left without money and boat . croatian authority impounded boats.
how you are going to do that. charter boat to sunsail or some other company. how they are going to pay you. in cash, money in hand. is it that black market .
