Notice: Software Upgrade (Monday Night)

I wanted to give everyone a heads up that I will be upgrading Cruisers Forum next Monday night (September 15th). This will happen late in the evening Easter Standard Time (US East Coast). So for our members on the other side of the globe, apologies in advance for performing this upgrade during your daylight hours.

Upgrade Details:
Date: Monday September 15, 2008
Time: 9:00 PM EST
Time zone offset: UTC - 5 hours

Overview: This upgrade will bring us to the latest version of the forum software. New features will include enhancements to member's users profile, networking features to connect with other sailors, enhanced features for the mod/admin team, better spam controls, and various other new features and bug fixes.

This upgrade will also position us to be able to add a new Link Database for members to post links to other useful resources for sailors on the web as well as a new blogging system for members to showcase details from their journeys, boat refits and other items they may care to blog about.

More details will be posted after the upgrade.

Could you please post a reply or a link to the list of features/changes for the new version? Specifically I'm crossing my fingers for an improved search and the ability to permanently hide individual forums. Thanks!

We will be posting summaries of the new features after they come up and the staff have some time to actually learn them. One new feature will include the ability for members to have their own blogs.

If you make a favorites shortcut with the following URL you can have a Google CF search tool that works about as good as it gets> Click this link and then save to favorites.

Both of these issues can be addressed with an upgrade.
