Where to Get Metric Bronze Bolts

Hi,
On our HR 38 the rudder is attached to the rudder post with a 20mm hex head cap screw. Some one installed a Stainless steel one and I am looking to replace it with a Silicon Bronze bolt. And I can't find one. Any suggestions? We hope to be in the Caribbean in the next few months... is it easier down there? Not sure of the length. (boat went in the water before I thought to measure it! I will buy something like 75 mm or longer and cut to proper length. Suggestions? Thanks

Jamestown is good, but only sells in boxes of 100, and quite a few of the places from the google search also only sell in bulk. Seafarer Marine in Ft. Lauderdale has a good selection and is Very helpful Seafarer Marine. Also try Fastenal Home | Fastenal.

I spent several unsuccessful hours in Ft. L this week looking for two unusual silicone bronze fasteners and was told to try PMC (thanks for the # s/v footloose ), and also to try Broward Bolt 954-960-1740.

Give a call to Brewer Hardware in Mamaroneck NY Brewer True Value Hardware > Home Don't be put off by the True Value theme -- they share the parking lot of McMichael McMichael Yacht Brokers and Yacht Yard - New York Boat Sales, Brokerage and Service - Alerion Express, J Boats, Summit Yachts, EdgeWater Powerboats, MJM Yachts, Tartan Yachts and they are an old-line marine hardware and chandler store that has rows of bins of marine hardware and accessories including a full line of bronze (though I don't know whether they'll carry as much metric stuff). The entire lower (basement) level is rigging and chain and other bulk stuff. I love browsing the isles because I see "parts" that nobody else would stock. Worth a phone call.

PS- I think they've been there a hundred years or more. Free coffee too.
