Dosger/Hard Bimini/Boom Crutch

I have/am about to install a boom crutch, it is in the ideal position to attach my yet to be made dodger.

Is there any reason I shouldn't attach the dodger, or bimini, to the boom crutch?

Aesthetically it works "OK"

You will probably want to be able to remove the boom crutch so it doesn't snag the boom, lines, etc. while you're sailing.

If designed well I dont any reason not to. You mean a boom crutch or gallows? I view a crutch as just a standing support, a gallows as wider... I liked the Gallows on a couple of my boats, there is no problem with snagging the boom as the sail/boom raises up when hoisted clearing the support.

I once made a boom gallows for a boat with clearance problems. I used a piece of piano hinge across the middle of the gallows so the upper half could fold down out of the way when sailing.
It also functioned as the rear attachment point for the bimini. Might sound strange but it looked good and worked well.
