Antifoul Paint Suggestions

My plans are to move our Beneateau 40' to Florida from the fresh waters of Georgian Bay, spending from November to April in and around southern Florida and the Bahamas.

Given that the boat has VC17 I am aware that I will be required to remove this boat paint and replace it with a suitable paint for the southern waters.

Our plan is to put the boat on the hard from April til November or early December for a couple of years.

I do not want to have to recoat each year, hence my question as to a good bottom paint that will do the job and does nmot need to be recoated prior to relaunch,

Suggestions please.

I am planning to sand the vc17 WITH 8O GRIT paper, recoat the Interprotect 2000 with one coat and then apply the new bottom paint.

You will need to find an ablative paint that will work well for the region you plan to cruise. Hard paints cannot withstand extended periods out of the water.
