Hi Everyone I am new here but have read lots of posts ad you fellas have lots of experience so I'd like to run something by you?

I am rebuilding the ski locker and a bit of floor in my boat. The ski locker is complete and glassed with polyester, the guy who helped me told me to just paint gelcoat onto the glass after a sanding. I called industrial plastics they tell me I can't just paint gelcoat on with a brush(to thick and gel like)? I was told to use plastic primer then a good quality marine enamel. Also wondering if I should paint the bottom of the floor patch over the ski locker with this same primer and paint or just paint because it's bare wood? I have a few more questons but will start with these I appreciate any advice you guys can provide Thanks Ken

I'm no expert, but I would put flowcoat on the floor and use high-build primer then enamel topcoat on the locker.
