Volvo Sail Drives question

Can a reverse mounted saildrive volvo 2030. (as in engine facing stern and sd mounted reverse) be unbolted below the top of the unit and turned around to be used in a standard mounted saildrive setup?

(I am not sure what you try to accomplish in real life but)
Both Volvo and Yanmar make "reverse" saildrives. As in
"Designer may place the engine either forward or aft of the propellor."
So the (too) short answer is "YES" - should be possible

Nothing wrong with reversing the leg. Note: Does it fit at all ?
center of gravity shifts and (in the usual cramped boat environment) normal maintenance may turn to be even more of a chore (and some "minor" details).

Volvo mounts the saildrive to the engine so imho question is: Which SAILDRIVE do you own?

Saildrive can be installed with engine facing either forward or rear.

I have seen them Volvos mounted both ways (but not done it myself).
I'd guess at least you'll have to change the seal (O-ring rubber and metal) as well.

A boat were purchasing has saildrives sandard mounting , it comes with 2 spare saildrives but they were reversed, i didnt know if I could use them or not.
