Volvo Sail 29hp

Can any body give me an idea of expected engine hrs life on 29hp Volvos in a cat I realise subject to maintenance but is 3000 a lot or could 5000 be expected and do Yanmah have a longer life in general.
Alos is it worth rebuilding or just throw them away and get new?

not enough correct information to post a correct answer.
But in general a diesel auxiliary engine in a sailboat should live well past 5000 hrs with proper care.

Further to that, does anyone have reliability info on Volvo D1 vs older 2030? I have heard of one skipper with a D1 that required 10 water pump replacements under warranty!

Doug,
I have just removed my MD2030, And am waiting for a new D1-30 to arrive.
I hope they have fixed that problem!
Please post if you know of any others I should look out for.
