Starting a stored Yanmar Engine

Now just make certain you have good clean fuel too. I don't know if any said that but don't use old contaminated fuel. If your tanks are suspect at all just get in there and clean everything well.

Ended up putting in a new fuel tank during this refit so clean tank and clean fuel. It was nice to have that electric pump installed to get the fuel up from the tank and though the lines.

Glad to hear you still own the boat. I was wondering what happend due no updates on the website. We met in Panama City (Uhuru - Young Swedish couple on a tiny catamaran). Looking forward for the next website update

Change the oil and its filter, polish the fuel and renew the filters, change the raw water pump impeller and the coolant, check the exhaust system and seawater strainer for obstructions. And check the drive belts.

You really should pull the valve cover to see if any rust is on the valve train.
This area is often overlooked in a long term storage and can cause a lot of problems.
Top engine gets little oil as it is , and if it was sprayed on before lay up, it'll be fine.
