Pulley Jabsco 3890-9011 Commercial Members Help

Can someone please point me to a vendor that can sell me a pulley for my Jabsco pump. Need a 5" diameter or there about to match the crankshaft pulley. Vee belt driven. Engine is a Nissan TD27.

Current pulley is too small and our pump is spinning like a banshee. I've searched the internet till I'm blind (almost). Can't get logged on to Grainger.

Thanks

Brian

I looked up your pump in the Jabsco catalog. It looks like you should be shooting for 1500 to 1700 rpm at wide open throttle. Looks like the shaft will accept 1/2" bore pulleys.

Try McMaster Carr for the pulley.

Thanks for the info. All the 1/2" bore pulleys at McM Carr do not come with a key as required for the Jabsco pump shaft.

I've seen different info on rpms for the pump. I was thinking along the same as engine rpms say 2800 max. 3'4" ports and ball bearings. Am I wrong?

Still searching.

Yes your pump has 3/4" NPT ports and a ball bearing.
Here is a link to a parts list for it in case you don't already have it.

Take a look at McMaster Carr again. The cast iron pulleys have a key way.

I am very thankful for your help. Getting the pulley sorted out is an important part of finishing the refit on our boat. I'm a US citizen living in Oman and our boat is in the Philippines so it ain't easy getting things sorted. We're headed for an end of December departure to go cruising but we keep blowing out the seals on the pump. Here's McM Carr's note on 1/2" bore pulleys.

Cast Iron—For Type A (4L, A, and AX) and Type B (5L, B, and BX) V-belts. Pulleys have standard ANSI keyways (except for 1/2" bore sizes, which have no keyways). See About Couplings and Keyways for ANSI keyway dimensions.

Maybe we can rely on the set screw but I sure would like to find a pulley with a keyway. I've already ordered to sets of new seals.

McMaster Carr let me down! Start looking at companies that sell bearings. They usually sell pulleys also. I don't know about shipping.

Here is one to get you started. I don't know them but they show pulleys on their website.
