Kohler 8 kw Genset Question

I have this generator with around 500 hours on it.. I am seeing with the water and exhaust either unburned diesel or oil exhausting with the water. I have to add a 1/4 quart of oil every 5 hours or so. Any ideas. Other than that genset works great.

Yanmar engine, right? 1/4 qt every 5 hours is a LOT. 500 hours, is, obviously, not. Is this a raw water cooled engine, or does it have a heat exchanger?
