But of course if anyone of you well informed sailors know where I might get this part or a whole new tranny.....it would make my day. We were planning to sail south this fall but this teaches me not to make plans when you're sailing
As this is an international forum, it might be worth pointing out that "tranny" in the modern English vernacular (UK and Oz) is used to mean a transvestite. I'm sure you are not wanting a part or indeed a whole tranny for your boat lol. There again, who knows?

Tranny in Americanized English is also a transvetite.

Re: Kanzaki tranny for Yanmar

Difference between KM2P and KM2A is in the shift attachment. Also, both were available in several ratio outputs so check to see if the transmission you are replacing has the same ratio or you will have to change the prop to go with the ratio. Again, good luck on your repair.

Re: Kanzaki tranny for Yanmar

Hang an outboard mount off the stern, get a 5 hp kicker and take out the yanmar engine and transmission and use for an anchor. I only fire mine up to get in and out of the marina.
