by the way, that is a piece of an old impeller stuck in one of the tubes
Jeeze Randy--that's far worse than ours was. Same tube bundle but totally off the charts in terms of obstruction. Frankly, I'm amazed to think you were able to get any water through that thing at all. Given the condition, I agree that sending it to a shop that can give it the dip treatment is necessary I will be interested to see what that looks like when you get it back. (I wonder if the condition is a by-product of the amount of time you have spent up in the Delta.)

Good luck old son.

Wow, what a difference. When was the last time it was cleaned? You could run something like Rydlyme through it once a year or so. Connect it up to a pail and a pump and circulate it through for a while. Then take it apart and clean it once every 5 or ten years.

Apex - Rydlyme is the world's leading biodegradable descaler, rydlyme is designedto dissolve water scale, lime deposits & rust deposits, but is not water treatment orwater conditioner.

never pulled it before... first time and we've been running it for about 10 years.. done a fair amount of motoring and have run from Alaska to Mexico..
to bad you cant run a preasure guage on it like my watermaker has.. when the preasure builds up, its time to change the filters.. guess the heat or the temp is a good indicator...

Well, you have sort of a pressure gauge in your temp. gauge. As soon as you see it start to edge up a bit its time to find out why.

By the way, did you check out the exhaust injection elbow?
