But you did discovery the "jist" of what I was on about. The poorly named fuel stop solenoid is really a fuel run solenoid. As you learned when the wire was removed. And yes, it does appear to be working fine.

I just wanted you to understand that as you went through your troubleshooting.

BTW, it seems your mechanic has determined the problem is not electrical? Since he has pulled the injector pump. Please let us know how things progress. Many of us are curious about such things, often because we do our own repairs. And few of us have seen everything.

Well the mechanic was right! High pressure fuel pump and injectors were serviced and replaced and generator is up and going. Not an inexpensive fix but no way we could have done the work. Thank you all for the help and suggestions.
