Engines louder after overhaul

We recently had our, new to us, boat overhauled after purchase. The Yanmar technician replaced the Vetus waterlocks with a slightly different waterlocks. On closer inspection it appears the original LP60s were replaced with a pair of L50Rs. Now my wife is complaining the engines are louder since the overhaul.

Would the small difference in size contribute to the additional noise? I assumed the muffler was supposed to take care of this. I haven't been in the engine rooms since the haulout, I had to get back to work. But I believe Lagoons have a seperate muffler from the waterlock.

The 50 series is used for shorter exhaust hose length. Did you reconfigure anything along with the overhaul?

How much shorter? The waterlock is right next to engine block. The engine transom isn't that large so I think the exhaust hoses are 40-50cm.
