Broken gauge?

The Perkins 4108 was rebuilt a few months back in Calif. I had the yard install a new duel Racor 500 fuel filter with the 4 way valve and the gauge. I did not get any instructions with this unit. The valve and filters work great but I have yet to see any movement on the gauge. I know it is suppose to measure restriction in the fuel flow and on the crossing to Hawaii I had to change from one filter to the other. the needle never moved. Should I try bleeding it at the gauge?
Thanks for any info. David B.

You probably have a valve that can cut off fuel supply though the line going to the fuel filters. Just slowly close that valve to restrict fuel flow and watch the vacuum guage slowly start to climb. Good to go!
