Beta Atomic Drop-In Mounts

I have read elsewhere that Beta motors with the Atomic 4 mounts did not exactly fit or if they did they caused other issues. The threads I got that information from is kind of dated so I am wondering if anyone has more recent experience. If so has Beta made any changes to their mounts or the pan that would alleviate the "other issues".

My guess would be that they have not made changes and that the problems are due to cramped quarters between the stringers.

It is rare that another make of an engine is an EXACT DROP IN Replacement. This is especially true when you are replacing a Gas Engine with a Diesel.

The Beta Marine Atomic 4 replacement engines are engineered to fit on the same engine beds as the standard hard bolted A4 and the shaft coupling will line up with the shaft.

That said, there is a lot else that will be needed to do to accomplish a reliable installation. Expect to have to change the following;
1) exhaust system,
2) possibly the intake thru-hull to a larger size,
3) the propeller and sometimes the shaft,
4) the control cables and sometimes the Morse control as well.
5) the fuel tank will have to be properly cleaned to get rid of all gasoline residue and dirt at the very least. Sometimes a new tank is needed.
6) a proper diesel fuel filter and water seperator must be fitted.
