2qm20 idles but wont accelerate

My 2qm20 yanmar will start and idle but will not accelerate.I think it may be a problem with the pressure pump...linkage looks fine on inside but doesnt affect idle or speed. Any ideas

Won’t accelerate when the transmission is in neutra? Or when in gear?

Check the linkage again with a helper. Ask them to move the throttle and see if it moves. Also - move the throttle linkage at the engine and see if the speed changes.

out of curiosity how are you stopping the engine at the moment ?

Thanks for the replies.Got it running...had air in the high pressure lines kept bleeding until it finally ran. Will hookup bucket today and run for a while to check everything out. Again thanks. I have to stop engine using compression release then shut off key
