What kind of transmission fluid should go into a 2QM15 Marine Diesel engine?

Transmission fluid is for transmissions. What gear does your engine have on it?

i had transmission fluid in my 2qm20 when i bought it which probably explains the burnt out forward clutchplate. On my engine at least (there are at least a couple of different gearboxes that were fitted to these engines) all the good sources i found were adamant that it took the same monograde 30 oil that the engine takes - since i replaced the clutches 3 years ago thats what its been running on without any probs. you'll have to do a bit of research and find out which gearbox you have and what lubricant it takes - please dont just take a guess cos it can be quite expensive if you get it wrong. i think one of the boxes was a kanazaki-hurth which was not the one i had - but i cant really remember now

The oil that goes in the 2QM15 also goes in the gearbox - same oil, just a bit less of it...
