Travel Lift

Located in Bradenton, Fl. Have 46 ft Cat, 50 T, 25' beam. Need boat yard that has travel lift to haul out.

50 tons seems a bit hefty for a 45' cat (my riveted iron 64' Tjalk only weighs in at 40), but there should be plenty of traveling lifts in that neighborhood that can handle such a weight.

Where you might have a problem is finding one willing to "sling" that heavy of a multi-hull, especially one that has a 25' beam. Locally, they usually crane the larger cats, and use what is commonly known as "The Mother of All Fork Lifts" to haul them around.

I spent a bunch of time looking for a travel lift that could accept 22ft beam on that side of florida.. Eventually I gave up as there was not many options.

I did find one in Pensecola and one in Panama city. If you not looking for storage, and just haul out (maybe wash and paint) then there is another in Fort Meyers Beach. The Fort Meyers Beach does not allow DIY work.

There used to be yards in Tarpon Springs with marine railways which were great for hauling cats. This was years ago so not sure whose still around. Maybe call marinas etc and ask around there.

Progressive Marine in St. Petersburg, FL can handle to 26' . I have not used them so can not speak for there work. We have used rails in Tarpon Springs but would not recommend, any delays are very costly. There is a yard with a crane in Tarpon Spings right next to Pitmam Marine in Tarpon Springs, they will let Pitman come over and do your botom work. You can dyi anything but bottom (epa thing) Contact Pitman marine they are excellent to work with.
We are due for bottom as well this year planning on giving Progressive a visit next week to see yard and get pricing. Our beam is 25 as well. Not sure of our weight.....and will not speculate on here....lol

I was looking for haul out in the Tarpon springs area as well. I have a brochure from George Luna boat repair. They have a 60 T travel lift but do not list a beam.

There is also what appears to be a 60 foot cat on the hard at another location near Georges. I didn't make out the manufacture but it is named s/v Bass a nova.

That is the yard right next to Pitman Marine, they do barge repair. They will lift you with crane. Do not remember the name of the yard, call Pitman Marine they should be able to help you. The guys there did a great job lifting ours three years ago. Now I am due again as well. Probably will go there again.
