Re: Seawind 1200 TEC 3

"One reason this happened was the doorway was cut higher to give more head room which then weakened the general area as well as little or no fibreglass reinforcing being used in this high stress join area.
The fix was to grind back the area and then add uni directional and biaxle glass."

A perfect example of how a design by a good designer ( and Tony Grainger is one of the best ) gets pimped around and changed by those who should know better. They should know better because they know they do not posses the engineering and math knowledge to just move bulkheads and chop through structural components, and any manner of other abortions that get done to good original designs. I'm NOT saying this is what happened in this case because I don't know the facts of this example, but nevertheless, it IS a good example of what can go wrong.

OK, getting off my soapbox now.

We have no record of a issue such as this with the 1200.

Re: Seawind 1200 TEC 3

Survey complete.
Zero signs of problems above or any other area in fact only one small area around one of the winches showed small crazing.
Final decision late next week .
