Quick tour of an Atlantic 42 performance catamaran while sailing fast in Fiji

A quick video I shot yesterday while sailing Sailing pretty fast on my Atlantic 42 performance cruising catamaran LightSpeed. Includes a quick tour of the pilot house helm and navigation desk.

David, beautiful boat!! Hope you find a buyer for her soon.
Btb- I couldn't find build date on the specs, I'm sure I'm probably missing it, I see she was hull #3.
Anyways, a dreamy boat.

I didn't list the build date. LightSpeed launched in 1997 at Lombardi Yachts Virginia, USA weighing 6.5 tons.

In 1998 she won the cruising multihull of the year.

In 2010:P New Yanmar 3YM30 engines, new Yanmar SD20 saildrives, new Gori folding propellers, new radar, new autopilot and more.

In 2011-2012 new Stainless steel standing rigging, house batteries new interior, ultra leather interior and more.

In 2013 new anchor chain, bottom paint (Sept 2013), inverter/charger and more.

Light speed is a great boat. I helped sail her across the Gulf of Mexico in December, 1,100 miles to weather. We later won the Miami to Nassau race multihull division. I would sail this boat anywhere and get there quickly.

I sailed on this boat from the Columbia River to Puget Sound a number of years ago. The weather was south and rainy and blowing about 20 knots. We put up a tiny chute and ran up the coast 7-8 knots warm and dry in the pilot house.

An awesome ride.

I still have that tiny spinnaker that I call the 'gun' its a 2.2 oz storm spinnaker from a 27' mono that has a foot of 19'-6" and is so tiny it doesn't even reach the spreaders. It's pretty much fail safe on a boat with a beam of 24'-3" as it can't twist or wrap. I like to run it from apparent wind angles of 120 to DDW (dead down wind) at 25+ knots true while short handed passage making.

Atlantic, crossed wakes w you a couple of times in Belize. Once off of Caye Caulker aboard a Priviledge 44 with students aboard. You started covering our tacks so my co-instructor and I cranked it up a notch, great fun for the students, and I think you had to actually put your cocktails down and focus a little more on sailing. You did of course eventually overtake us, but the old Privilidge put in a pretty good run!
