Re: Privilege 45 for Offshore Cruising ?

Well, I guess I didn't need to get so worked up.

Re: Privilege 45 for Offshore Cruising ?

We are currently cruising on a '93 Privilege 482 and loving it. Most of our offshore sailing (up to 12 ft seas) has been downwind which is a great point of sail for a cat. Just recently we finally had a bumpy ride . . . close hulled SW wind with choppy 3 ft swells from the SE. It's the first time we experienced the pounding & many things fell because they weren't properly stowed. (will be doing a blog post on this passage in the next day or two). Still very happy with our boat and wouldn't change a thing. Very sturdy for offshore passages. Very comfortable for living aboard.
You can view our website for more information. For more details about our boat work & issues we faced, you'll have to go back quite a few posts, but you can find the "boat improvement" category on the side of the page that will take you to the work we've done.
