Needing ideas

I just purchased the Gemini 3000 from the Craig’s listing in Corpus Christi. Needing flooring in both hulls. I am really tired of the teak/holly sole that every boat has. Last number of years it is only crap laminate or at best inferior material. Wanting to go with composite material that will last roughly forever. Any ideas out there as to good products that have been used? Stopped at Home Depot and Lowe’s and both have good options, just wondering what has been used and results/thoughts. I know a lot of composites will be slippery but some I looked at were rougher and 100% waterproof 5/8th inch thick so springboard should not be a factor in the narrow hulls. Any ideas or experience would be welcome. Bob

Re: Needing ideas

Marine ply wetted out with epoxy resin (both sides). Or pick a fancy ply veneer and epoxy that, can have natural timber look with clear coat or paint it.

People have been having good luck with the self adhesive cork flooring tiles.

Or if you dont like a tile effect you can buy cork in rolls in a variety of colours.

Got with Matt at Coastal Bend Yacht Services near Corpus Christi. After the wood, thinking 3/4" ply painted, he likes the cork idea. Many options to choose from. Mucho Grassy Ass to replies.

Keep it as thin and light as you can. Watch the ounces and the pounds take care of themselves.
