The Lagoon 50, like many of the new models does not have "extreme aft mast placement " and is not a "headsail driven" design like the Hitch. It has a high aspect main of nearly 100 m2 and a jib size of 60.3 m2. Hardly "headsail driven".

The mast placement allows this "genoa sized jib" to be self tacking; a feature that many manufacturers tout as being a great advantage.

The Lagoon mainsail designs being tall, squaretop and roachy are much different from the old Prout designs.
