Lagoon 400 Inflate your fender???

I have six fenders came with the mooring kit ordered with my Lagoon 400, the fender has a small round section, but no valve that unscrews, possible a needle that one might use to inflate a football may be the answer haven't tried that yet. No manufacture name that I can find. Any one with the answer.
Regards Peter

Are you sure that yellow center doesn't push in when a nozzle is inserted? It looks like a valve to me.

Re: Lagoon 400 Inflate your fender??? Tall Ships

Thanks Mark, yes I thought that but I was reluctant to start prodding around without being sure of what I was doing, and thanks factor I sent off a email to Lagoon last night, then I thought I'd also send off the question to all the fine folk on our discussion group, someone must have the same fenders and would have inflated them one would have thought. The fenders are three years old, last weekend moored at Williamstown watching the tall ships arrive, at about one in the morning the second night a unpleasant constant 38 knot wind pinned us against the pier with associated white caps, the fenders did the job helped by boards, and large round fenders that luckily I had on board for such an occasion. We departed at first light. Have attached some pictures for those that may be interested. Regards Peter

Did they deflate? They look fully inflated in the pictures.

Ours have plain valves. It looks like some special Lagoon design.

Have you asked at the source?

The tall ships were quite a spectacular sight
Nice 400, we have one booked in the Whitsundays in Dec, seems too far away!

Re: Tall ships

Hello 916senna, nice to see a pic of my L400 from someone else. I have no doubt you will enjoy the 400 in the Whitsunday's, what craft where you on. To finish the story, last Saturday we followed the tall ships to Blairgowrie Yacht Club, paid $50 to tie up, had dinner on board then made our way to the club and got to listen to the talks given by the tall ship Captains and others, pilots etc. very enjoyable and most interesting evening, next morning we departed with the fleet following them through the heads for a while, it was perfect blue sky day, very tempting to stay with them all the way to Tasmania, what a great weekend everything went right (for a change). Have attached some pictures, note the spectator craft and the crowd at Queenscliff, no question the tall ships attracted huge interest. Regards Peter

Re: Lagoon 400 Inflate your fender???

You are not going to tell us how your fender inflates?

Mark

Re: Lagoon 400 Inflate your fender???

Well Mark, I simply don't know and nobody has responded with the answer, I mean it cant be rocket science can it. Lagoon have not responded as yet, they will in due course I hope. The fenders did not actually deflate as such, one did look a bit soft that is what prompted me to investigate how one inflates one's fenders, however having a rather porky L400 leaning on it with the help of a 38 knot breeze is understandable that ones' fenders may look somewhat slim. If I do discover how to inflate the fenders I will send advice, just occurred to me that they may not be able to be inflated. They do appear to be doing the job in my home marina as normal.
Regards Peter

Re: Lagoon 400 Inflate your fender???

Impressive photos there Peter, I wish I had wandered down there. I spotted a couple of tall ships of Bon Beach area around lunch time, perhaps they were stragglers.

Let me know if you ever need some crew on that fine vessel of yours, I'll happily pull some ropes for you :-)
