Re: Fly Screens.

We have Ocean air fly / shut screen (roller type) over all hatches in the roof. I hate how the airflow is slowed by screens so we have left screens off doors etc. etc.
Ana has a devise that works really well ... called 'Beautiful Aire Humidifier ... Type HDL 606. It holds a container with water and one can add different odour solutions to it. Basically a motor spins in the water - fresh air that smells good is expelled into the cabin and bad odours sucked up into the water which after some time is then replaced again. HERE IS THE TRICK ... she adds a 'BUG REPELLANT' to the water and it works like a charm !
When we were moored under the Pitons in St Lucia, we had a bug infestation and before we knew it they were everywhere ... literally thousands of them. We put on this devise together with one or two 'Canola candles' outdoors and within minutes they were gone. Many died leaving a carpet of bugs we had to clean up, and no living ones returned. I use it all the time now and sometimes even leave the top screens open.

I also sleep with the fans running above our bed ... it seems to keep the bugs away, but obviously we are not concerned about battery power.

Cheaper and also very effective is the tablets used for one of these type of devices

Put in one of these

We also had cabin and cockpit full of dead bugs.
