Elite 11 catamaran

We are about to buy a catamaran and do some extended cruising around our Australian waters. We have no experience of larger multihulls and are considering buying an Elite 11 (built 1992). Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this vessel?
And now, since I have only joined this forum today, a little about myself. I entered into an early retirement when I had a baby (now 1 yr old). We thought the cruising life would be perfect for children and want to get started as soon as possible. My husband will be finishing up at work in a few weeks and we can start seriously looking for a catamaran after that.
I can hardly wait!!!! A bit scared as to what to expect from the cruising lifestyle. We have worked so hard to get to this point and I don't want to be disappointed. I hope this forum might alay some of my fears....

There are excellent 'threads' in here that I've found informative.
There is a recent one from a young 'girlfriend' off on to sea with her fella, and lots in 'live aboard'.
You will need to add netting around the cockpit to keep the rugrat safe but you've made an excellent choice of boat.
Try to get yourself qualified at least to 'Competent Crew', preferably 'Day Skipper' so you don't have to worry about the boat side of things.
None of the sailing is hard work, make an hour a day on this site a part of your training.
Search for threads on 'families aboard', 'Elite' etc for details of your boat. And ask any of the Site Administrators for help and advice, they are lovely fella's.
