Yakamoz is way cool. It's unique -- not many others named that out there. And it has a beautiful meaning behind it. Now that I know the word I just like saying it. . . .

Trias:

-Internationality - Every country that has rocks 200 to 250 million years old has Triassic. Every one, without exception...
-Dynamism & sportivity - probably
-Love to nature - it IS nature!
-Femininity - all day long
-Beauty - they are rocks, is this a rhetorical question? Of course they're beautiful.
-Endevourism - glad this got changed to tenacious. Jurassic is as tenacious as it comes - get some Jurassic on you, it don't hardly ever come off...

Re: Boat Name Needed!

I name my boats for the feelings they invoke in me. That is why they are all named "Fear and Loathing!"

Re: Boat Name Needed!

I recently lost a pet of 13 years, a Tonkinese cat. We called her Duppy. Our next boat will be named "Miss Duppy" and of course it will be a cat!

Re: Boat Name Needed!

How about
"Mermaid Moon"
or
"Mystic Winds"
Maybe
"Cheshire" (the cat)

Trouble with Tribbles. Or more realisticly Money Pit. Money Pit sounds better than a Hole in the Water That You Throw Money In.

Yes you would get a lot of calls on the vhf hailing you with a name like that...

True.... they'd sure be popular...
and it fits the criteria requested a lot better than 'Traveller'

-Internationality
-Dynamism & sportivity
-Love to nature
-Femininity
-Beauty
-Endevourism

Re: Boat Name Needed!

since your boat is a Tempest 37, you could go with the only major female character from Shakespeare's The Tempest: Miranda.

good thoughts so far!

Maybe it helps if I refine my "guidelines".

-Internationality
(This stands from the dream of exploring new shores, for me this is what cruising is all about. The long stretches offshore are ok but not my primary reason for cruising)
-Dynamism & sportivity
(I love sailing in a sporty manner and am willing to sacrifice some comfort for it)
-Love to nature
(I love the beauty of nature with all its mysteries & beautiful sights)
-Femininity
(Her captain, myself, is a women after all!)
-Beauty
(I love esthetics and style)
-Endevourism
(Maybe tenacity fits better, if I want to achieve something, I go a stretch for it. I want my boat to do the same for me).

More ideas?
