Mine broke while sailing, had new cable, fed it down the pipe than dove down to detach the old, attached the new (easier said)

Could you raise and lower it by hand? Surely you didn't use your line winch to raise it?!

Haha no way. It was not a good day.
The cable snapped at anchor at night caught in the sand and felt like it was gonna snap the boat in 2.
I slung a line under, got back in the water and lifted the keel just enough to get it in the sling. I did try to use the winches, angles are to steep.

I was meaning generally speaking when you're using it not when it's fallen into the drink.. lol
I'm aware of how much they weigh, mine came with a second/ spare keel.

There was a cam cleat. Definitely more buoyant in the water

Anyone have photos of the running rigging for the boom, travler, and swing keel cable? Will add pictures tomorrow, just got the mast stepped today.
