Does anyone know what this design is?

Hi all,

A few weeks ago, there were some pictures posted on a UK forum of a yacht which had broken her mooring in the storms we had, and gone aground. Luckily, she was refloated with only minor damage, but no-one could work out what she was! I hate it when this happens, I get a sort of itch to find out!! Odd, I know. She has the look of an American design (Atkin?), so I thought here would be a good place to ask... Can anyone help?

Aground...

And refloated.

For those of a strong disposition, here are some videos of her going aground.

Whatever the design is, it has certainly earned my respect for surviving that with only minor damage. Apparently the owners had just loaded her up for a world cruise. Bet they were glad they chose such a strong yacht!

Here's a video of the refloating, and of the (cosmetic!!) damage, for anyone who is interested.

Wow! That doesn't look like much of a crane. I am surprised that they were able to lift her and have enough lifting capacity to boom out in deeper water.

Thanks Zeehag, you've got it, I just googled 'Westsail 43 Iona' and got this page: HOME so that proves it! Just googling the name didn't come up with the goods before.

Good work!
