Question BILGE KEELS

Need help designing bilge keels for 70ft X 20ft ferro-cement motorsailor. Boat is curently 8ft draft, would like to eliminate some draft if possible. Would like to know how to size keels for a given boat (L-B-D). Also keels might help with rolling (first mate dosen't like rolling). THANK YOU.

Flopper stoppers might assist in anti rolling rather than bilge keels

The design is not the real problem IMHO but attaching them would be.

As for their design, I think it'll take a marine engineer to calculate their size, weight & shape in relation to your hull weight, rigging & profile. A mis-design could result in a capsize.

As someone who owned a bilge keel boat for years, I did love the shallower draft, but I don't think you can expect any notable decrease in rolling.
