Watched a couple of shows, great to see whole family chasing the dream, I did watch a show suggesting dad was considering a cat, to accommodate size of family (6). But whole family, very cool ⛵⛵

Regarding the video at 3:22......Complacency gets people killed, but I see the other side of it, too. The part of the population that gets things done, needs to get things done. I take risks on a daily basis that I wouldn't ever let an employee take, but I'm well insured, and it's my margin and reputation on the line. Not the right answer, I'm sure, but it's my answer.

I wouldn't be terribly concerned with walking under the hull while it sits in a travel lift. I wouldn't do it while the travel lift was moving, however sitting still shouldn't be an issue.

Calculated risk is what life is about. No time for living in a cocoon !! And the boat has a big fat keel so it's not gonna flatten then if things go pear shaped. This is why I say calculated risk

Nice video of a family enjoying their cruising life and learning and doing along the way. This is the first I have seen of this family and boat.

What struck me about this video's boat, was when they looked at the section of the hull that was being repaired near the bow. The man points to a section that had been cut out, and mentions they would fill with foam. He puts his hand to the hull bottom. The hull thickness was much less than I expected to see, and appeared very thin to me. Did anyone else get that impression?

I'm not sure I get anything of note at 3:22. ? Starting about 4:50 or so, the Beneteau bow thruster installation is damn scary, especially when your whole familiy's life depends on it. Fill the area with foam? WTF good will that do. Take your family around the world in a Bene? NO WAY. I'd like to see the Saildrive taken out and it's condition.

it's not quite as scary as it looks: the tophalf or so of the thrustertunnel is part of the hullmolding. I've seen it on a boatshow: the bottom of the tunnel is open, there is a gap in the hullbottom of 10" or so (depending on boatsize). the flimsy fibreglass we saw & the lower half of the tunnel gets put in after the hull is molded & serves no strutural purpose. shouldn't be torn away by a little bit of sailing though...
the hull looks crazy when the thruster & the lower piece aren't mounted...
it's the keelshape I would worry about, first & foremost...

Ok, you're right.....it's odd to see the top half molded into the hull though. I can see how from a production standpoint it's better....but damm.
