While living in San Francisco, one of our slip neighbors at Sausalito Yacht Harbor purchased a [then] new Fuji 40. We were very impressed with the build and quality of the yacht and the good sailing charateristics. For more information see FUJI 40 Sailboat details (specs. English) on .

"It is not so much for its beauty that the Sea makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from the waves, that so wonderfully renews a weary spirit."

We have lived aboard and cruised a '78 Fuji 40 for over 6 years.

It is a heavily built S&S designed cutter rigged (convertible) sloop.

She is well built, nicely finished, and extremely sea-worthy. Happiest in 15-20 knots. A lot of freeboard, so tons of headroom throughout. Ours was re-engined with at 56hp Yanmar. Easily pushes her at 6-7 kts.

PM me if you need more info.

Fugi 40

We live in Ventura, CA and are looking for a Fugi 40 to buy. We noticed that your post re a question asked about the boats was a year old and were wondering if you may be now be considering selling. Please forgive our forwardness, but just thought we'd ask. Otherwise, happy cruising!
