35 cheoy lee sloop

looking into a 1981 35' cheoy lee sloop as a live aboard to sail to the Caribbean at least. does any one out there have any advice on what to look for when I go visit the boat? or any input on how it will be as a liveaboard?

There is a Clipper 36 in Clear Lake, Tx that can be had for 10k. If I had more time I would snap it up.

Thanks! the sloop is a little closer to home, I am trying to decide weather or not to buy a boat here or to go to the Caribbean and buy one there
