Sounds like you're being bent over

But then, mono sailors are used to that

121 In a mono, you aren't obligated to stand up and wave at helicopters while doing 14 kts.

121 - It may not be possible in a mono to stand up and wave at anything going 14 kts! I'm too busy standing on the windward portlights.

I call that 120 points for monos and 1 point for Multi's

123 - A monohuller will seriously consider hanging 1200 lbs on the rear davits.

125: Fewer repairs for a monohull. It is so much easier collecting an insurance payoff for a boat sitting on the bottom.

Back to my 121: A charter monohull boat for 4 couples is 2/3 the cost of a charter cat for 4 couples.

Lost me on that one.

I had a fixed bridle on the last boat so no adjustment possible and never had any issues

But whenever the wind has got up its usually the mono guy that has to shift as they roll like a pig making sleep impossible.

Rattling chain and throbbing diesels at 2am from mono boy wake me up, wind and wave action has never made me actually move yet

Cats point, Monos may point better, but nothing points like a Boeing 747

mononecleauosis : A phycosis often demonstrated by a group of single hulled, opionated boat owners

racing a cruiser

Not sure anyone has mentioned this, but

126: You can race your cruising mono in PHRF for fun. Not many people race their cats- probably because it takes too much time to tack.

127: the "feel" of sailing that only a mono can provide- a little heel, a little weather helm, feeling the groove. Anyone out there recognize that?
Remember when cat owners split hairs about boatspeed: If you really were into it for speed, you would buy a powerboat, or drive/fly to your destination. Passages are more than just getting there.

Catatonic: 1. Characterized by marked motor abnormalities including immobility (catalepsy or stupor), excessive motor activity (purposeless agitation), extreme negativism, mutism, posturing or stereotyped movements.

128: Mono's are like a big babycrib rocking in a storm, and a cat just sits there.

129. on a mono you loose more weight because you can't keep anything down.

yeah, those cats dont race pfft, most that do can out tack most mono's

And they heel and they get weather helm if sails are poorly trimmed, mostly they just track like they are on rails

bollocks

Sail a good multi and you'll get a new appreciation for being "in the groove" that you will never have experience in your cruising mono

Speed is about broadening your horizons, classic example is Moreton bay where I live, monos usually only ever go to Peel Island from Manly for the weekend as thats as far as they can go and its a half to all day trip
Google Maps

Day sail to here for the same reasons
Google Maps

SPEED lets us travel here for the weekend, sailing all day, Manly is south
Google Maps

or for a weekend where you get almost 2 full days enjoying the destination as well
Google Maps

Get the place all to yourself as most mono's cant manage a weekend here or at best get there late afternoon and leave early the next day.

Great spot is at the top of Moreton here
Google Maps
I have NEVER seen a mono here, but again, a great weekend spot in a southerly for a multi
