When to go from Australia to America?

Do you know anything about sailors going from Asia to America?
I know that about 95% of the long- distance sailors are going west and not east, so I need more information about

- Where do they start in Asia? (Japan, Philippins, Indonesia, Australia)
- What time is best to do it?
- In the south pacific
- or in the nord pacific

That is a particularly long voyage of roughly 5,000 miles. Your chances of finding someone doing it would be very slim.

If you attempt it, Japan might be a good starting point and from there you should head for around 40 - 45N where the prevailing wind is west to east. Departure time should be May or June.

Maybe look for something shorter and easier like Indonesia to Thailand or Philippines.
