Never tried this forum business before so here goes. I'm launching a 55ft
cat soon having had same built in the Philippines. I'm an Aussie and I would appreciate some advice as to the best place to register my boat.
I plan to sail the south pacific initially and end up visiting Aus.

My first choice would be Langkawi ... It's easy, cheap and practical.
Singapore and Hong Kong are other popular options nearby.
Foreigners cannot register boats in the Philippines, as far as I have been able to find out.
You'd also need to research what rules might exist in Australia for their own citizens taking boats there... I'd imagine there are tax issues. But that's perhaps a concern for a future time.
