Hi All,

I am looking for a good book or two on weather forcasting. There are a number on amazon, but they do not have a large number of reviews. Here are a couple:

The Weather Identification Handbook: The Ultimate Guide for Weather Watchers



Guide to Weather Forecasting: All the Information You'll Need to Make Your Own Weather Forecast (Firefly Pocket series)

Anybody use these for their forcasting needs? Any other suggestions?

If you want something a bit technical you can try this site with a big PDF document.
http://www.ecmwf.int/products/forecasts/user_guide.pdf

Very good, a bit old and for the Med is: Handbook of Mediterranean Weather for Forcasters (US Navy). It is a PDF file to download.

A bit simpler and very good are:
Instant weather forecasting, by Alan Wats (Alard Coles) based on clouds.
Instand Wind forecasting, same
The mariner weather handbook, Steve and Linda Dashew (Beowulf)

And if you read french you can try: Meteo and Strategie, J.Y.Bernot (Galimard).

For training you can use the Starpath Program on line or buy their CD package, very good too.
